TRAINING - A stable diet is very important and key to success, along with going to 24 fitness and doing various strength and conditioning routines designed by Brian Grinnell. Along with a night session at the "Shawnee Wrestling Room."
How Jake became an MMA fighter - Jake started training at the age of 8 in North Korean Tae Kwon Do through World Tae Kwon Do. Then left there to train with New World Karate and Master Zack Burns who is a Master in Tang Soo Do(Mu Do Kwon). Jake received his black belt through Master burns on July 7th of 2006. After attending some MMA fights Jake new that’s what he wanted to do and made it a goal to get there by any means. In the summer of 2007 NwK started a MMA team in which Jake competed on until he moved back to Shawnee, Oklahoma and started training with Troy Kious of Team Hammer based out of Mcloud, Oklahoma. Then met The Grinnell brothers and the rest is history.
Who is Jake's Heroes? - God first because without God Jake wouldn’t have made it this far in life. Second, Jakes Parents for always providing him the will ,determination and support to follow his dreams. Third Master Zack Burns because he provided Jake with the tools he knows now in Kick Boxing. Jake looks up to Urijah Faber because he is also another small 145er that has made his name in the sport. As well as teammate Brian Grinnell who’s work ethic is equal to none.
Favorite technique? - Super-Man punch and Axe Kick.

Adult advanced Runner up in the 06-07 MSKC Sport Karate circuit.
Black Belt under Master Zack Burns in (Mu Do Kwon) Tang Soo DO.
